Bob Confer

Bob Confer is the Executive Vice-President of the Council. He joined Scouting in 1986 and became an Eagle Scout. Upon graduating from college, he became — at the young age of 22 — the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 18 in Gasport. After “retiring” from that role 9 years later, he joined the board of the Iroquois Trail Council, ultimately becoming the President, a position he held for nearly a decade.

Bob is the host of Scouting Today, a TV show filmed monthly at the Lockport Community Television studios. In this show, he interviews scouters, scouts, and community members about the local and individual impact of Scouting America. The show airs four times a week on Spectrum cable in the Buffalo/Niagara region. All episodes can be viewed on demand at LCTV.net

Bob is the President of Confer Plastics, Inc. which has manufacturing and distribution facilities in North Tonawanda and Wheatfield and employs 150 people making a wide variety of outdoor leisure products. Bob also serves the community through volunteerism at his alma mater SUNY Brockport, he writes columns for local media outlets, and he also hosts WNY Tonight for LCTV. He and his wife Bernadette live in Gasport with their 4 children.
